2.) I have found a cheaper flight arriving/departing the night before/after camp. Can my son stay in the dorms the night before/after camp?
a. Unfortunately, because we only have the dorms for the nights of camp and for those respective campers, we cannot house anyone before or after those times. If you are in the second session of camp, we still cannot house you prior to your session. You will have to find alternative means of housing. A list of local accommodations are found through this link: http://www.dartmouth.edu/home/about/visiting.html
3.) What should I bring to camp?
a. Essentials: Helmet, Cleats, Turf Shoes and Sneakers, Gloves, Arm Pads, Shoulder Pads, Lacrosse Stick, Mouthpiece, Bed Linen, Blanket, Towels, Pillow, Toiletries (Soap, toothpaste, etc.), Window or Floor Fan, Extra clothing, Spending Money – for Camp Store and walks into Hanover
b. Note: The East Coast Lacrosse Camp is not responsible for the damage and/or loss of personal items and cash. Please use good judgment in the items you decide to bring.
4.) My son is driving to camp. Can he park his car up there?
a. If it is necessary to bring a car, it must be parked and remain parked until camp is over. All car keys will be collected at registration and returned at Checkout. Also, campers may not ride in cars with anyone other than their parents or Camp Staff. We will direct them to the appropriate parking spaces when they arrive.
5.) Why do I need a key deposit?
a. We need a key deposit in case there is a lost key. We keep all key deposit checks in a safe place until the end of camp when campers return their keys. We will take cash as well. When you return the key, we will return your cash or either rip up or return the check.
6.) I want to room with someone who I know is also coming. Is that possible?
a. Yes, it is possible. Please notate who you would like to room with on your application.
7.) Can I go to both sessions of camp?
a. Yes, you can go to both sessions of camp, however, the price does not decrease if you decide to attend both sessions.
8.) Where is Scully-Fahey field? How do I get to Dartmouth?
Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH. Exit 13 off of Interstate 91 or 18 off of interstate 89, 2 hours north of Boston, and 1 hour and 15 minutes from Manchester and 1 and a half hours from Burlington, VT. easily accessible by Amtrak, Trailways, Greyhound bus (www.greyhound.com), Dartmouth Coach (www.dartmouthcoach.com), or the Lebanon (NH), Manchester (NH) and Logan International (Boston) airports. Shuttle busses run directly from Manchester (Greyhound Bus) and Logan Airports (Dartmouth Coach) to the Hanover Inn (4 block walk to Scully Fahey Field). For the most up to date travel help,
please visit:
http://www.dartmouth.edu/admissions/visit/
Unfortunately, no shuttle will be offered from the airport by the camp. A campus map is located in the FORMS section to help you find the fields once you are on campus.
9.) What are the differences between the two sessions?
-
There is no difference between either session. We hold two sessions so that we can alleviate conflicts between the multiple camp options out there. All that matters is having you up to experience campus and for us and the other staffs present to get a great evaluation over the course of four days.
10.) I have heard that most D-1 programs will have already obtained
verbal commitments and have filled their respective classes this summer. As
a rising senior this summer, would there be any slots for me to compete for?
- Absolutely yes. Not only will Dartmouth have slots to compete for,
but the many other schools that will be attending, to both recruit and work,
will have slots in their recruiting classes.
11.) What is the cost of camp?
Overnight - full room and board: $665
Day option (does not include a room, INCLUDES breakfast, lunch and dinner):
$565 **
**Many athletes come up to campus with their families. We offer the ability
for campers to stay with their families in local hotels to save on the
tuition of camp. We will be offering local hotel rate blocks for families.
Please check the Local Accommodations Page.
12.) The schedule goes as follows for BOTH sessions:
Day 1:
Check in 3-5pm (Dinner in the dorm)
Evening Session 6-8pm (Work out)
Day 3:
Breakfast
Morning Session 9-11am (Games)
Lunch
Afternoon Session 2-4pm (Games)
Dinner
Evening Session 6-8pm (Games)
**All Star Game **
Day 4
Breakfast
Morning Session 9-11am (Championships)
Check out immediately following the last game
If a conflict comes up where you may miss the first night, that’s not a problem. It’s more important to make Day 2 and Day 3. If you need to leave early after the evening session on the 3rd day, that works as well. We can accommodate any of those arrangements.
